Danielle Johnson


Board Member

Danielle Johnson is the Director of the Office of Housing Stability (OHS) in the Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH). Prior to joining MOH, Danielle was the Managing Attorney of the Elder, Health, and Disability Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS), where she worked on impactful litigation to prevent elder displacement and secure essential benefits such as MassHealth and Social Security.

Previously, she served as a Staff Attorney in the Housing Unit at GBLS, representing tenants at risk of eviction. Beyond direct legal representation, she worked collaboratively with advocacy groups and organizations across Greater Boston to address systemic issues related to housing instability.

Danielle is also an Adjunct Professor at Suffolk University Law School and Northeastern University Law School, where she teaches Access to Justice and Negotiations, respectively.

In August 2022, Danielle was appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court to the Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission, where she now serves as Housing Sub-Committee Co-Chair. She is a board member of the Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys (MBWA) and, in 2024, became an alumna of the Commonwealth Seminar.

She has been published in the Boston Bar Journal and the Boston Globe, where she discusses the importance of diversity in the legal profession.

In 2025, Danielle was selected as a LeadBoston fellow and joined the New Leaders Council – Boston Chapter, further deepening her commitment to leadership and advocacy.
