Tara Dunn Jackson


President

Tara Dunn Jackson is an associate at Mintz Levin, where she focuses on employment litigation, counseling, and investigations. Prior to joining Mintz, Tara was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Angel Kelley of the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts. She also serves in the reserve as an Assistant Judge Advocate General in the United States JAG Corps, where she litigates evidentiary hearings, tries courts martial, and advises commanders.

Tara's litigation background consists of white-collar criminal defense and a wide range of civil matters, to include, complex commercial litigation, employment litigation, and civil rights. She also served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Attorney General under Maura Healey, where she supported environmental justice initiatives, carried out civil enforcement actions and investigations, engaged in a variety of civil rights matters, and tried a civil jury trial.

Tara is a 2017 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law. Prior to law school, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the United States Air Force Academy, as a Division I student-athlete in the Mountain West Conference. While a cadet, Tara earned her basic jump (skydiving) wings for completing multiple, solo, freefall jumps. Upon graduating the Academy, she served on active duty in Space Command, before transferring to the United States Air Force Reserve during law school.

Tara serves as a Trustee and Fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation (“MBF”) and serves on the Board of Advisors for the Civil Rights and Restorative Justice (CRRJ). She is a recipient of the Just the Beginning (“JTB”) 2024, 5 Under 40 Legal Professionals award and the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, Excellence in the Law 2020, Up & Coming Attorney award.
