About Shanuah Beamon
Shanuah Beamon is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer of City
Year. In her role, she has responsibility for the Legal Team, Human Resources, People Operations, and
the organization’s insurance program. In addition, she serves as Co-Clerk to the City Year Board of
Trustees. Shanuah brings to the Chief Administrative Officer role years of experience in a broad range of
disciplines, including finance, governance, strategic planning, and process re-engineering. She was
appointed to the City Year Management Executive Committee in 2020.
Prior to joining City Year, Shanuah served as Deputy General Counsel for the Massachusetts Housing
Finance Agency. From 2001 through 2011, while with Textron Financial Corporation, Shanuah assumed
several positions of increasing responsibility, including Division Counsel, certified Six Sigma Black Belt
and Division President where she was responsible for managing a leveraged lease portfolio, loan serving
unit, insurance subsidiary and was a member of the company’s Executive Committee.
Shanuah, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Vassar College
and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
Shanuah is active in her Boston community and has served on several boards, including, Trinity Boston
Connects, City Year South Africa, New England Baptist Hospital, Harvard Street Neighborhood Health
Cetner, SpeakEasy Stage Company, the Sportsmen’s Tennis Club, and Rosie’s Place, the first women's
shelter in the United States.
